Global Studies, also known as International Studies or Global Affairs in some institutions, is an interdisciplinary study of global macro-processes.
It covers a broad variety of subjects and/or topics including but not limited to law, economics, politics, and language depending on the country where the course or degree is being offered.
It started with a tinge of curiosity.
Living in a foreign land gave me the impression of wanting to learn more about its entirety and see opportunities to thrive in it.
I was already business-minded before I even thought of taking up business courses.
When I saw what the Global Studies degree has to offer, I realized this was the path for me.
Being able to conduct business while bridging nations through commerce is something I am now willing to try.
Global Studies offer a wide range of possibilities and opportunities as a student's career path.
"Students will obtain specialized knowledge that they can utilize across the globe by taking courses such as international relations, economics, and accounting that are taught in English, and doing groupwork and holding discussions in English with students from all over the world. "**
No matter the area of expertise, students with the interest of performing at an international scale can learn the basics of Global Engagement, Economics, International Business, and Global Justice, among others.
"This program is designed for students to learn about problems in the world with a global perspective that sees the Earth as a single system."**
As a Global Studies degree holder, the student can take on international and/or diplomatic positions in government, working on economics, international trade and tourism, and even national security.
As a degree that covers a great variety of disciplines and courses, Global Studies paves the way for students to seek career opportunities with regards to international-level work and professions.
